Zynga’s Future Plans
Rollic, according to Zynga, recently celebrated its first anniversary of joining Zynga. Moreover, they stated that Rollic had surpassed more than a billion total downloads worldwide.
Three of their games, Zynga noted, had reached more than 100 million downloads each. Furthermore, they stated that 16 Rollic games had reached the top free downloaded game positions in the U.S. App Store ranks to date.
These milestones would make Rollic one of the biggest hyper-casual publishers in the world, Zynga noted. Moreover, they said that would demonstrate the company’s ability to utilize data insights across their games since they continued developing and publishing hit games.
Besides the acquisition of the three Turkish studios, Zynga also revealed how they were ready to expand their portfolio further from mobile. They said they’d aim to break into the console industry.
The game Star Wars: Hunters is first on Zynga’s cross-platform expansion list. They stated that the game would be coming out on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch.
This move is a big one for Zynga since they’ve built their brand on mobile and web free-to-play games such as Farmville. In order to expand further into the console gaming industry, Zynga has acquired developers Natural Motion and Echtra.
